Rich Knight Photography

Welcome to Rich Knight Photography. This site is arranged into 2 galleries featuring both black and white and color photographs. The first gallery, Grand Landscapes, features landscape photographs on a broad scale that showcase the majestic beauty of the American countryside. The second gallery, Abstract, are images created on 35mm transparency film. These photographs were taken of neon and incandescent lights at night with shutter held open while moving the camera.

Grand Landscapes

The Grand Landscapes feature images from the Sonoran Desert in Arizona, Monument Valley in Utah, Yosemite National Park in California, Mono Lake and the Alabama Hills in the Eastern Sierra. The images were captured on 4x5 transparency or black and white film.

Abstract Gallery

The Abstract Gallery features images created in camera with a single exposure. I discovered this technique quite by accident after pressing the shutter by mistake. When I saw the result I was inspired to experiment with it. Most of them were taken at the Santa Clara, California county fair.
